This policy explains what information Role Handbook collects and how it is used. The short version: at launch we don't run accounts, cookies, or third-party analytics, and the main thing we hold is email you choose to send us.
Information we collect
- Email you send us. If you contact us, we receive your email address and whatever you write. We use it to reply and, where relevant, to correct or improve a guide.
- Basic server logs. Our hosting provider records standard technical information such as IP address, browser type, and pages requested so the site can operate and stay secure.
- Newsletter, when it launches. If you subscribe later, we'll collect your email address through the newsletter provider, and this policy will be updated before that happens.
We do not sell personal information. We do not run advertising trackers at launch.
Cookies and analytics
We use a privacy-friendly analytics service (geoinflow, at geo.agentenforce.com) to understand which guides are useful and where readers come from. The analytics script runs on every page and may store a random identifier in your browser's local storage, but it does not set advertising cookies.
Typical analytics data includes the page you viewed, the referring page or search engine, your browser and device type, and a coarse location derived from your IP address. We use this information in aggregate to improve the site. It is not used to identify you personally or to build advertising profiles.
We also analyze server access logs (IP address, user agent, requested pages) through the same analytics service to measure traffic and catch errors. Server logs are retained only as long as needed for these operational purposes.
You can limit analytics by using browser privacy features or a content blocker. If you send us email, we use your address only to reply and handle corrections.
How we use information
- To reply to your messages and handle corrections;
- To keep the site working, secure, and reliable;
- To understand which guides need improvement, using aggregated data only.
Third-party links
Our guides link to other websites, including government agencies, official resources, and occasionally tools or services. Those sites have their own privacy policies, and we don't control how they handle your information.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal information we hold about you, or to object to certain processing. To make a request, email [email protected]. We'll respond within a reasonable period and may need to verify your request.
Children
Role Handbook is intended for job seekers and professionals. It is not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from them.
Changes to this policy
We'll update this page if our practices change, and the "last updated" date at the top will change with it. Material changes will be described on this page.
